I’ve worn dresses as skirts, but I’ve never worn skirts over dresses. Inspired by Kyle, I decided to go for it as part of the 21 Day Challenge. I grabbed my jean skirt, hiked it up and belted it in place. Admittedly, I was a bit apprehensive about the look, but John gave it his seal of approval (he’s good at calling a crazy outfit crazy), and I was on my way. Did some shopping for the twinsie’s baby shower, volunteered in the kids area at church, and had sushi with John. Side note—John finally likes sushi! I think I’ve been waiting our whole marriage for this to happen, and it finally has! Not sure why it finally clicked, but I’m going with it. Anyway, got to go get started with my day since I slept so late this morning (I blame the new solar screens for keeping our bedroom dark)! Have a great Sunday!

This is a fun idea and super cute…I don’t think it’s too crazy at all! Besides which, I’d love to see that skirt styled straight-up, it’s adorable.

Thanks! I will have to wear that skirt on its own soon…I have thoughts in my head of pairing it with some bright colored tights, but I don’t want to wait for winter to wear it again!
I really like that look, but have been afraid it would make me too “bulky.” I think I’ll try it with the dress I’m using for the challenge remix. Thanks for the inspiration!
Thanks, Saralyn! I just checked your blog to see what dress you were using for the remix, and I think it would work great! It looks like a pretty, light, airy dress–in my case, a belt really helped keep the skirt in place over the dress and cut down on the bulk. Can’t wait to see how you do it!
Oh I like it! I think it works here because the bottom of your dress is different than the top. If you hadn’t of told me, I would have thought you were wearing two skirts and a blouse.
You know, I’ve heard a few people say that they thought it was two skirts! I love that it came across that way!
That’s adorable! I never would have come up with it, but it totally works.
